Words: Steph Cosway
Okay, so it’s Valentine’s Day so you are either:
- In a bed of roses eating your weight in homemade heart-shaped pancakes.
- Hopelessly single, watching the DNA results on Jeremy Kyle while considering if you actually do like The Godfather III.
Or quite possibly the worst of all…
- Your partner has taken your claims of hatred of the day for truth and now you’re now cardless with no grounds to go in a huff.
What a fucking horrible day, I hear you cry!
But wait! What’s this about a kiss off some bunch of Oxford guys? Well, not technically a kiss as such, but the notoriously talented Spring Offensive have a special Valentine’s gift more poignant than a heart shaped cucumber and as musically silky as the caress of a red rose.
AN ACOUSTIC SPRING OFFENSIVE EP!
Now fans of the quartet will know how exciting this is. It is- literally- exciting.
Between Me and You, the anti-Valentine’s EP, is available from the band’s website for ONE WEEK ONLY. One of those pay what you want deals, fans of free love can download it for nothing or if you want something a little more special those who pay £4 will have their name featured in the thank you list of their upcoming single release in April. And they’ll all give you a big sloppy kiss.
Not a bad deal I’d say.
Trisickle illustrator Kate Lindop, inspired by the EP, created this wonderful little gem.
